The total extended couples’ therapy sessions total 9 hours, and have the flexibility to be completed in a single weekend or broken out in different blocks based on what you and your couples’ therapist decide.Ī typical outline may look like: The initial 3-hour intake is on a Friday evening 4-7 pm with the additional 3-hour blocks on Saturday 10-1 pm and 2-5 pm. You can expect contact for a consultation and progressive steps to craft an experience and itinerary that are specific and unique to your needs. It’s time to take care of this crucial form of support and connection. Relationships are an inherent part of life and essential to create a solid, emotional foundation to build off of. To combat issues of time, coordinating schedules, and give our relationships the focus they deserve, we’ve created a 1-on-1 couples weekend option to get elbows deep in mutual understanding, skills, and support. We decided it was time to break through some of the barriers that keep us in the way of tending to our most important relationships. We talk to friends (a little bit but not too much because we don’t want to change their outlook on our partners - I mean, they’re not a terrible person and we can tell we’re messing up too, it’s just… things are hard right now). We want to start with seeking other forms of help like books or youtube videos. Our most natural human response is to want to figure it out on our own. We’ll be first in line to sheepishly admit that we’ve had our own personal experiences with delaying couples therapy in particular. ![]() Clinical research indicates that we take about 7-8 years too long to initiate couples therapy. ![]()
